Web18 Launches new portal- in.com

Web18, a subsidiary of TV18 which owns several media brands like CNBC TV18, CNN-IBN and portals like moneycontrol.com, tech2.com, cricketnext.com has launched a new portal in.com. It's a horizontal portal which will act as an aggregator for Videos, news, games and classifieds. You will also get an email address @in.com. So, if you want a new short and crisp e-mail then go grab it.The portal is still in beta. Any guess for how much the domain in.com would have been acquired?.... there are reports that the domain is bought in Rs. 20000000/- no typo here it's 2 crore INR :-D. Let's wait and watch how does this portal turns out for users.

Google Translate now in Hindi

After long wait, Google has finally come up with translation in Hindi. Now, you can use Google to translate English to Hindi or vice versa. In it's early phase, the grammar is not very good, however, you can get an idea about the text. check it out Google Hindi translation .

Amitabh Bacchan starts blogging

To counter attack India launch of myspace, the popular social networking site. Big Adda has roped in Mr. Amitabh Bachhan to promote Bigadda. Bigadda is a social networking site by Reliance ADA group. You can watch his blog at http://bigb.bigadda.com/ab. There are reports that Big B is paid Rs. 100 Cr. for this, that's too much of money :-) and on the other hand in 3 years of blogging I am yet to get first check from Google adsense team :-D damn...

Windows XP to be hanged till death on 30th June, 2008

Yes, your beloved OS for many years, Windows XP will no more be shipped from Microsoft after 30th June, 2008. However, it would be available for low end PC (less than Rs.20000) for some more time. Microsoft thinks that this move will push sales for Windows Vista because In MS opinion, Windows XP is the biggest rival of Windows Vista. So, be ready to upgrade to Windows Vista. Read more >>

HP acquired EDS for $ 13.9 Billion. Hewlett Packard is now in direct competition with IBM, be it in terms of hardware and IT/ITES industry. service industry. There are reports that around 20,000 job cuts are in pipeline. Read more >>.
